Do we recommend Esure car insurance policy?
The Esure website does not contain all the necessary information and key details such as the factors for NCB. But from the customer reviews, Esure seems to have an average customer satisfaction rate and performance level. The website is not customer friendly and a potential customer would have a hard time going through the website in search of information. The covers provided by Esure apart from the comprehensive cover do not seem to cover a lot so this is an indication that the comprehensive cover is the one to go for. The insurance policy that Esure provides does not include some services like classic car insurance. Overall, the performance level can be said to be average and it is recommended.

What are Esure auto insurance policies detailed?
Esure multi-car insurance
Multicover insurance is provided for more than one car registered under the same name so long as the owners of the other cars are above 26 years old.
A 1 year quote promise is offered to customers and is guaranteed if details like address, phone number are not changed in that time frame.
Esure learner driver car insurance
This is dependent on the details of the learner driver in question. If it is satisfactory enough, it can be added to an already existing cover plan.
Esure coverage abroad
Your policy provides the minimum cover you need to use your car for up to 90 days in the EU (European Union) and the EEA (European Economic Area).
This is usually only the equivalent of Third Party cover and as such doesn’t include cover for damage to your car.
Esure business car insurance
Class of use categories are:
- Social, Domestic and Pleasure (SDP)
- Social, Domestic and Pleasure + your commute (SDP&C)
- SDP&C and business use by you, SDP&C and business use by you and your spouse or partner
- SDP&C and business use by you and another driver.
If you commute to work (even if your car’s parked at a train station most of the day), then SDP&C would likely be the best option for you. And if you use your car for business, choose from the 3 options that fit best.
Esure van insurance
Esure provides insurance for small vans that are used for personal purposes. Large vans and vans meant for business do not have any form of insurance policy.
Esure No-Claim Bonus (NCB)
A No-Claim bonus is a reward that you get from driving during a long time (at least one year) without making any claim. The more years you drive without claims, the higher your NCB rate gets hence the higher the discount on your insurance premium.
A driver is eligible to apply for a NCB Bonus if he/she is above 25, has a good and safe driving history and finally has at least four years without any fault claim. Esure offers a 75% discount for a driver that has up to 10 years without claims. Every type of insurance policy (third party only, third party fire and theft, and fully comprehensive) can accumulate a no claims bonus.
How does a claim affect my No-Claim Bonus?

How to cancel Esure car insurance?
Since car insurance is a legal requirement, Esure as well as other insurers will renew your contract automatically at the expiry date without any notification from your side.
For the same reason, if you cancel your car insurance policy, you must sign up to a new one immediately.
Before your contract comes to an end, Esure must send you a renewal notice within 14 to 21 days before the anniversary date of your contract.
After sending you the renewal notice, they will automatically renew your insurance contract. You will therefore have 14 days (what we call the cooling off period), to cancel the new contract at reduced cancellation fees.
Other fees may apply if you make some alterations to your contract or if certain events occur during your contract’s operation.
The table below provides more details on modification and cancellation fees charged at Esure:
Cancellation fees during cooling off period: £26
Adjustment fee: £26
|Cancel by phone|
0345 606 1374
You would need to have various documents ready such as your policy number (right hand corner of your documents), your bank details, and your payment method in case there are cancellation fees.
Esure could also refuse to cover your car any longer if you don’t pay for your premiums within the time allocated, or if they find out that you omitted important information that was required by the company such as your driving experience or you if have committed a fraud of any kind. This act is known as ‘fronting’.
