Is Axa a good car insurance company?

3,8 Safe overall rating for Axa car insurance

On the website, there is a sufficient amount of contact options provided for the customers to meet each and every need that might arise. Apart from the customer care review on TrustPilot that was not impressive at all, Axa offers a wide range of services and insurance covers. The comprehensive plan for instance covers most important aspects needed for a car insurance service. Overall, the performance of Axa can be said to be average and while it might come recommended, there might be better car insurance companies to work with.

In addition to typical car insurance coverage choices, Axa offers, among other options:

Breakdown cover

With an average rescue arrival time of less than 50 minutes, and a customer satisfaction score of 4.35/5 2, Axa provides one of the best breakdown services. With Axa, if your vehicle breaks down more than one-mile from your place of residence, roadside assistance is provided to repair it at the roadside. If it cannot be repaired, the driver and up to six passengers can be taken to a destination within a 20-mile radius. The breakdown cover covers:

  • Misfuelling
  • Replacement car and accommodation if abroad
  • Home assistance
  • Inclusion of any caravan or trailer, attached to the vehicle at the time of breaking down.

Windscreen cover

Claim on windscreen, window doesn't affect NCB. Sunroof does.

Motor legal protection

Up to £100,000 in legal fees is provided if the driver was not at fault for the accident. The legal cover option also includes medical expenses, compensation for injuries, recovery of transportation costs and earnings lost due to the accident.

Personal injury policy

With AXA's Personal Injury & Rehabilitation cover, the driver gets up to £100,000 if injured in the car - even if the accident was his/her fault.
