There are also many bad reviews on several platforms like TrustPilot and Defaqto especially about the prices of the insurance services offered. Some information were not properly listed out on the website also. However, the insurance company provides car vandalism cover, online self help which helps the customers make changes easily to their insurance policies. Breakdown cover

For the sum of £29.99 per year, Breakdown cover is provided for customers. The cover offers the following:

  • Roadside assistance in the case of a breakdown
  • Provision of an alternative source of transportation for the driver and up to 8 passengers in the case that the car cannot be fixed
  • For abroad and onward travel in Europe, there is the option of getting a temporary replacement car. There is also the option of getting hotel accommodation if the car cannot be fixed instantly.

However the standard level of cover limits are below average when it comes to maximum sum insured, alternative accomodation, owner's liability for both building and contents insurance. The company doesn't provide great cover for outbuilding or thefts in the open for contents insurance as well.

Halifax life insurance policies are underwritten by Scottish Widows and it is valid for UK residents age 18 to 64. It provides coverage options like term life insurance (increasing and decreasing) and over 50’s cover (which is also referred to as the whole-of-life cover). Critical illness cover is also provided and it offers cover for 27 major conditions or illnesses, including stroke, heart attack, and certain cancers. The ratings of 2 for Defaqto and 1.6 on TrustPilot are not on the high side. Little or no information is provided on the website, also policy documents are not available and information as regard the services provided are hard to come by.
